As the Pohang earthquake steadily occurred along with big and small aftershocks, the damage caused was extensive. Firefighters on the front line are responsible for the initial response, thus their job stress is very high; this study identified the determinants of job satisfaction for firefighters in Pohang. The summary of the study is as follows. First, most of the firefighters in the Pohang earthquake had 10 years of employment, were 30 and 40 years of age, and most of them completed higher education t. Second, their job satisfaction was influenced by compensation, organizational conflict, and job burden as per this order. Third, job characteristics did not significantly affect job satisfaction.
