John Stuart communicated a letter from James Farrer regarding his discoveries on the Isle of Eday in Orkney in July 1855. Farrer describes his excavations and also the dimensions of the buildings that he was investigating. The article concludes by discussing some of the finds from the Pict's House in Burray (see earlier in Proceedings Volume II) and a grave found near Pierowall on Westray.
