Emergence of High Level Aminoglycoside Resistance (HLAR) and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus (VRE) has further limited the drug therapy in enterococcal infections. However, nitrofuratoin being an old drug reported to have less resistance in comparison to the other classes of antimicrobial agents.
