Qualification Perception Of The Turkish Language And Literature Education Teacher Candidates And Attitudes To Teaching Occupation

The concept of occcupation turns up as an undeniable field interms of socio-cultural and economical aspects especially in sectors inwhich specializing is important. In this respect every sector involvesdistinctive components and obliges ıts workers to adapt theseconditions. The importance of teaching job may be said in configurationof society in every stage and transferring some values to the individuals.Attitudes to the job of teacher candidates and professional competencesences are important in teacher training in sense of fixing andevaluating the accusitions. In this survey Turkish language andliterature course teacher candidates' professioanal competenceperceptions and their attitudes to the job have been searched. Thesurvey has been carried out with relational scanning which is a type ofgeneral scanning. In these kins of models, needed datas are collectedfrom individuals and object that are defined as the target group ofsurvey towards the aims by using different tools. Datas in survey havebeen collected by means of a questionnaire composed of 22 questionmatters quinary likert type. The survey has been composed of dataswhich are obtained from 4th grade Turkish language and literatureteaching department students of Gazi University in 2011-2012education year’s autmn term and 170 non-thesis MA students 137 ofwhom are female (%80,6),33 of whom are male (%19,4). In this survey,Cronbach-Alfa Formula has been used so as to identify the reliability ofthe results of measurements and Cronbach-Alfa value has beencalculated as ,75. Datas collected through the questionnaire have beenexplained and the results are tabulated with a statistically independentsample test and single factor analysis of variance (Anova). In the study,prospective teachers are defined in adequate, especially in terms of thefield knowledge. Perception of educational sciences courses are notsufficient in terms of quality and quantity emerges as a remarkablefinding. As a result, the teacher candidates' interests to the profession,attitudes towards the teaching profession is high, however, ıt has beenidentified that they are insufficient in terms of special field knowledgeand vocational knowledge. A meaningful difference was identified inteacher candidates’ attitude points and the perception level ofvocational competence in only sex and mother profession variables. Thefact that the courses are raised that enables teacher candidates’development in terms of pedagogic skills and special field knowledge isthought to affect their vocational competence perceptions positively. Meslek kavramı özellikle uzmanlaşmanın önemli olduğu iş kollarında sosyokültürel ve ekonomik olarak yeri yadsınamayacak bir ihtisas alanı olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda her meslek kolu kendine özgü unsurları bünyesinde bulundurmakta ve çalışanlarını da bu unsurlara uyum sağlamaya zorlamaktadır. Toplumun her aşamada yapılandırılması ve bireylere belli değerlerin aktarılmasında öğretmenlik mesleğinin önemli bir yeri olduğu açıktır. Öğretmen adaylarının mesleğe yönelik tutumları ve mesleki yeterlilik algılarına yönelik tespitler, öğretmen yetiştirme programının da değerlendirilebilmesine imkân vermesi bakımından önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Türk dili ve edebiyatı öğretmeni adaylarının mesleki yeterlilik algıları ve öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları incelenmiştir. Araştırma, genel tarama modelinin bir türü olan ilişkisel tarama modeli ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmadaki veriler, beşli likert tipinde 22 maddeden oluşan anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırma, 2011-2012 eğitim öğretim yılında güz döneminde Gazi Üniversitesi Türk dili ve edebiyatı öğretmenliği bölümü dördüncü sınıf öğrencileri ve tezsiz yüksek lisans programında öğrenim görmekte olan 137'si kız (%80,6), 33'ü (%19,4) erkek olmak üzere toplam 170 öğrenciden alınan verilerden yararlanılarak oluşturulmuştur. Anket aracılığıyla toplanan veriler istatistikî olarak bağımsız örneklem t testi ve tek faktörlü varyans analizi (Anova) ile anlamlandırılmış ve sonuçlar tablolaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak öğretmen adaylarının mesleğe ilgi duydukları, öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiş bununla birlikte özel alan bilgisi ve meslek bilgisi konularında kendilerini yetersiz hissettikleri tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının pedagojik becerileri ve özel alan bilgisi bakımından yetkinleşebilmelerine imkan sağlayacak derslerin arttırılmasının, mesleki yeterlilik algılarını olumlu yönde etkileyeceği düşünülmektedir
