The curatorship has become a profession in the visual art field during the period from 1960s to today. In this context, it is aimed to explain the development of curatorship and job description of it which is/is tried to be imposed to it as well as the history of curatorship. A reflection of social and political events by the end of 1960s, of course, showed itself in the artistic events. It was started to be questioned the positions of institutions such as museum and gallery through or via different movements occurred during those periods. When it is examined in the processual aspect, the new and alternative searches have been initiated and thus, the profession, curatorship, was subjected to a change. In the scope of this change, it is observed that the curatorship is transformed into a creating field in the visual art through the important exhibitions
