/K/ phoneme in Altaic languages has not been investigated thoroughly. This study provides an overview of previous findings of the /K/ phoneme at the initial, medial and final position. The purpose of paper is to discuss under which circumstances the /K/ phoneme was devoloped overtime in Altaic languages. The criteria for chosing the sample words is that they should be relevant semantically and phonologically. Only the parallels within these languages which consists of Turkish words are handled
