O Turismo Sexual e a Comunicação – Um olhar hermenêutico sobre as relações entre visitantes e visitadas

This article focuses on the role of Communication in Sexual Tourism among Argentinean male tourists and local girls in Florianopolis (SC). Hermeneutics in Depth, Triple Analysis of Research and Barth´s Semiology were used as tools for interpretation of the data obtained from Focal Groups from February to April 2007 in the field. Some terms will be written with capitol letters and some times the pronoun “we” will be used also for methodological reasons. Interpretative method led to relativization instead of hard statements, since interpretation is a possible gaze over reality. Interpretation of sexual tourism stimulated by Communications intends to enhance discussions on the subject, since applied social sciences research aims to understand phenomena instead of proving hypotheses
