Template match arithmeticTMA is vital to the template identification technology of nuclear warheads and components. This paper introduces a TMA of high-resolution gamma-ray spectral fingerprint based on mean vector test. Some trials on gamma-ray samples were conducted to check the validity of TMA. The validity of TMA was comfirmed by correctly distinguishing between samples of different intensities and components. Two pieces of advice are given on the design of template structure.
