This paper presents a new three-dimensional continuous autonomous chaotic system. The new system has two system parameters and a nonlinear term which takes the form of arc tangent function. The stability of the new system is investigated based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) method. And the complex dynamic properties are studied by theoretical analysisnumerical simulationLyapunov exponents spectrumbifurcation diagrams and Poincaré section diagrams.
