The article presents the key aspects of the formation of the essence of managerial activity, taking into account the socio-economic context. The main provisions characterizing management as management activity, as a science are revealed. The prerequisites that contribute to the development of pedagogical thought in the field of preparation for organizational and managerial activities (OMA) are determined. For each period, the features are formulated in understanding the essence of management, the nature of research, the application of management principles in organizations, the parameters of effective management, as well as requirements for the training of managers. The need for advanced preparation for ELE of future bachelors is identified and substantiated, taking into account the requirements of digitalization of life.
