“Escuchar el cuerpo y creer en eso”. Exploraciones en torno a la noción de registro de sí en el marco de las medicinas alternativas (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

The article aims to analyze one aspect of the logic of health care that is outlined in the universe of alternative, non-conventional, or complementary and alternative medicine, as the World Health Organization denominates them (WHO, 2002); we refer to the notion of self-reflection and self-knowledge as one of the dimensions of the therapeutic efficacy in a broad sense. It is worth noting that that this work is based on the research for a doctoral dissertation focused on analyzing the construction of therapeutic meanings within the framework of a particular form of alternative medicine (reflexology), which was carried out from a qualitative sociological perspective
