In this article, the epidemiology of childhood sexual abuse and its impact on the mental health will be reviewed. Invisibilization mechanisms, which allow society for not giving a proportional response despite that child sexual abuse is happening in a big percentage of population and that it has been related to mental health problems, will be reviewed. Finally, reflections about mental health professionals role in this field will be discussed. Keywords: Childhood sexual abuse, mental health, trauma, critical review
