Prediction values for spirometric indices utilize values derived from Caucasian populations in resource rich settings. Traditionally these are discounted when applied to non-Caucasian populations. It is encouraging to acknowledge the paper by Nokubulwa et al on prediction values for peak expiratory flow rates (PEF) in a Ugandan population (1).
