This article focuses on how social scientists can use fiction when studying migrant culture. The argument is that art e.g. fiction in different ways can illuminate personal experiences and feelings as well as themes and perspectives that are seldom treated in academic literature. The case of two female Turkish-German writers is forwarded and related to the author's own empirical work among hyphenated Danes.
