Grundtvig and the Theatre. By Steen Johansen. Some new knowledge which has come to light about Grundtvig as an amateur actor in his student days (1800—1803) has provided the occasion for this article. It begins with a summary of what we already know about this subject as a result of information previously published in “Grundtvig-Studier”. It then gives the newly-discovered information, which consists of a hitherto unnoticed entry in Grundtvig’s diary for 1803, affording confirmation of the fact that on September 25th, 1803, he took part in the performance of Olufsen’s play “Gulddaasen” . Strangely enough, the former editor of Grundtvig’s diaries, H. Begtrup, had not noticed this item of information.
