In this paper we discuss the two construction strategies: decomposition and composition (''top-down'' and ''bottom-up'' ). We consider the concepts of subsystems and aggregates as developed in the DELTA project, which may assist us when using the two construction strategies. We discuss some of the difficulties which may arise, and make a preliminary proposal for an aggregate concept, usable in both SIMULA and DELTA.
