Zygmunt Bauman, professor of Sociology at the University of Leeds and, since
1990, emeritus professor, has developed key concepts for the understanding of fundamental
issues of today’s world, such as liquid modernity, time, space and disorder,
individualism versus community, globalization and consumer’s culture, love and
identity, etc. His analyses of the links between modernity, Holocaust, democracy
and social politics were the principal subject of the following interview, which was
conducted by Vicente Ordóñez and Vicent Sanz on the occasion of Zygmunt Bauman’s
recent visit to Spain.Zygmunt Bauman, profesor de Sociología de la Universidad de Leeds y, desde 1990, profesor emérito, ha desarrollado conceptos clave para la comprensión de los problemas fundamentales del mundo actual, tales como la modernidad líquida, el tiempo, el espacio y el desorden, el individualismo frente a la comunidad, la globalización y la cultura del consumo, el amor y la identidad, etc. Sus análisis de los vínculos entre la modernidad, el Holocausto, la democracia y la política social fueron el tema principal de la siguiente entrevista, que fue llevada a cabo por Vicente Ordóñez y Vicent Sanz, con motivo de la reciente visita de Zygmunt Bauman a España
