En este artículo analizaré las características de la música de Fido Guido, un cantante alternativo de música reggae-raggamuffin de Taranto (Italia meridional), en los términos de una metaforización cognitiva y cultural que permite a una zona del sur de Italia «ser imaginada» como una Jamaica. Finalmente analizaré la identidad resultante de la mezcla de elementos simbólicos espacio temporalmente cercanos y lejanos.In this paper I will analyze the features of the music of Fido Guido, an alternative reggae-raggamuffin singer from Taranto (South Italy), within the frame of a cognitive and cultural metaphorization which allows a Southern Italian zone to “be imagined” as Jamaica. I will also analyze the issue of identity resulting from the mixing of symbolic elements coming from nearby as well as far away places and times
