The rate of the reaction NO + N→ N 2 +O has been measured to be 1.0±0.5×10 13 cm 3 moles -1 sec -1 at room temperature. The heterogeneous reactions N+O→NO and O + O→O 2 were observed to occur in the ion source of the mass spectrometer.
