Los hábitos lectoescritores en los alumnos universitarios

Esta investigación analiza y describe los hábitos lectoescritores de los estudiantes universitarios dentro y fuera de las aulas. Para ello, nos hemos apoyado en la información proporcionada por los estudiantes que ha sido recogida a través de dos cuestionarios: uno de naturaleza descriptiva aplicado a una muestra de trescientos estudiantes de dos programas de Grado de la Universidad de Sevilla; el otro, de carácter específico (con tres versiones diferentes) completado por tres submuestras elegidas en función de las respuestas de los estudiantes al primer cuestionario. El análisis de dichas respuestas nos ha permitido determinar la existencia de tres perfiles representativos que describen los hábitos lectoescritores de los estudiantes: escritores/lectores segmentados, lectores privados y escritores/lectores instrumentales. Estos perfiles indican que los estudiantes tienen dificultades para acceder a un pensamiento propio capaz de generar conocimiento. Los resultados obtenidos no sólo muestran importantes carencias en el proceso de alfabetización académica sino que plantean interrogantes sobre el modo en que se está llevando a cabo dicho proceso en el ámbito de la educación universitaria.This paper analyzes and describes the writing and reading habits of university students inside and outside the classroom. To make this study possible, we have relied on information provided by the students, which has been collected through two questionnaires: one descriptive, applied to a sample of three hundred students in two degree programs at the University of Seville, and a second one of specific character, in three different versions. This questionnaire was completed by three subsamples based on the students' responses to the first one. The analysis of their responses allowed us to determine the existence of three representative profiles describing reading and writing habits of students: segmented writers/readers, private readers, and instrumental writers/readers. These profiles indicate that the students find difficulties in reaching original and independent thought capable of generating knowledge. The results not only show significant deficiencies in the process of academic literacy, but also raise questions about how this process is being carried in the field of higher education
