The paper addresses the relationship between the essence and destiny of Christianity. In particular, it focuses on its catholic nature and deals with the sense in which it can be affirmed that absolute catholization (i.e. the fulfillment of the kerigma) is the same as nothing. To this end, it problematizes the alleged difference between faith and atheism, and introduces some considerations about what is Christianity today.
