Valves are critical components of water distribution and wastewater collection systems because they control the flow of water and wastewater through the delivery and collection systems. If a distribution valve is accidentally damaged, water supply to homes, hospitals, industries, and other users may be interrupted until repairs can be made. Likewise, if a wastewater valve is damaged, in a lift station for example, wastewater flow and collection can be impaired and extensive repairs may be required.
