Coliform monitoring has been around a long time, and some of its traditional techniques that have outlived their usefulness still linger. Guidance on the forthcoming US Environmental Protection Agency's Revised Total Coliform Rule is available, but water utilities can prepare now for impending changes by identifying and dispensing with outdated beliefs and practices.
