The stumbling economy has had a widespread impact on employers. Water utilities have to do more with less, and employees often must bear the brunt of cutbacks and changes. As a result, job satisfaction is at a historic low, and employees may be exploring new employment options. Many utilities want to retain talented staff but don't have the resources or know‐how to do so.
