A common challenge for water and wastewater facilities is a lack of proper preventive maintenance (PM) being conducted or the frequency at which it's performed. This article lists maintenance activities (usually recommended by the manufacturer) to keep the equipment working properly. An important part of PM is to regularly inspect all equipment and address problems as they arise. The article provides examples of catastrophic consequences that can arise when proper PM is not conducted.
