This article summarizes the findings of Water Research Foundation Project No. 4311, Challenges and Opportunities of Nanomaterials in Drinking Water. The objective of the project was to provide drinking water utilities with information about various technical issues associated with nanomaterials, including topics of interest to the drinking water community such as potential health effects, removing nanomaterial from drinking water, potential uses of nanoparticles, nanostructured membranes, nanosorbents, arsenic removal, TiO 2 photocatalysis, and nanosensors.
