Open AccessEste trabajo analiza las transformaciones que experimentó el panorama arquitectónico medieval en el priorato de Uclés durante el siglo XVI, centrándonos en los procesos de reforma que sufrieron las parroquias de Dosbarrios y Villanueva de Alcardete, dos edificios que en origen tenían el mismo modelo estructural, pero que fueron reedificados siguiendo planteamientos completamente distintos. Lógicamente, para realizar este análisis, se han revisando las fuentes estudiadas por otros investigadores, pero también se ha utilizado un importante volumen de documentación que permanecía inédita hasta el momento. This paper analyses the transformations experienced by the medieval architecture scene in the Priorato de Uclés during the sixteenth century, focusing on the reform process that the parish churches of Dosbarrios and Villanueva de Alcardete underwent. These two buildings had originally the same structural model, but they were rebuilt following completely different approaches. Logically, for this analysis, not only have other researchers’ studies been examined, but also a significant amount of documentation that had remained unpublished until now has been used.
