Es un estudio sobre el origen del museo público en España, centrado en el Museo Nacional de la Trinidad, formado con los objetos artísticos procedentes de la desamortización eclesiástica. Se hace un análisis de sus objetivos, de la formación de sus fondos y de su contribución al estudio de la pintura española.
This article studies the beginning of public museums in Spain, mainly centred in the Museo Nacional de la Trinidad, an institution that holds the artistic objects which came from the ecclesiastical «Desamortización». The article analyses the museum's objetives and the creation of its artistc funds. It also shows its contribution to the study of Spanish painting.
