Open AccessLos concejos de toda época se han apoyado en la potestad de control sobre los límites de su territorio para garantizar la integridad de sus propiedades. Por ello, el apeo o carta de términos, como instrumento jurídico y fiscal, representa la esencia de los documentos constitutivos municipales. Aunque el origen de estas actuaciones suele ser tusivo, algunos deslindes se realizan de forma espontánea, sin intervación de ninguna autoridad. Este es el caso que manifiesta la carta de términos realizada a finales del siglo XV que fue emitida ante la iniciativa de ciertas villas limítrofes a Guadalajara por la ausencia de hitos delimitadores.
Along history town councils have guaranted the wholeness of their properties making use of their power to control the limit of the territories. For that reason boundaries as a judicial and fiscal instrument, represent the core of the municipal constitutive documents. Althought a warrant is usually the origin of these actions, some boundaries are carried out spontaneosly, without any autority control. This is the case of this boundary stone charter, that was issued at the end of xiv century, at the request of some bordering small towns near Guadalajara, due to the lack of milestones and delimitations.
