Open AccessHasta la mediados de la decáda de 1990, la ausencia de entrerramientos Uruk (IV milenio a.C.) fue una constante entre el registro arqueológico de Mesopotamia. El descubrimiento de nuevas tumbas en contextos Uruk o Tardo Calcolíticos (LC) del Norte del Éufrates y Tigris arrojaron nueva luz sobre la problemática. En concreto, la zona de Biredyik- Karkemish ha proporcionado un nuevo y amplio espectro antropólogico del Bronce Antiguo (BA) 1, período inmediato posterior a Uruk. Proporcionalmente, los restos parecen más cuantitativos que en otras regiones. Sugerimos alguna conexión de las poblaciones humanas de esta zona del este de Turquía con otras poblaciones, por lo menos durante la transición LC al BA. También se ofrece una hipótesis sobre un distinto componente étnico, no totalmente sureño.
Until the 1990s the absence of Uruk burials (Mid-Late IVth millenium B.C.») has been a constant in the archeological excavations in Mesopotamia. The apparition of new burials in Uruk or Late Chalcolithic (LC) contexts of the Northern Euphrates and Tigris shed new light on the question. Specially in the area of Birecik- Carchemish has been yielded a new and broad anthropological spectrum from the Early Bronze (EB) 1, inmediate post-Uruk. In proportion, the remains seem huger than in other regions. At least during the transition LC to EB, we suggest some connection of the human populations with other regions of this Eastern Turkey area during the period. Also is offered a hypothesis about different ethnic compound, no complete of southerner origin.
