Countless management training courses stress the importance of good, clear communication, but it seems that despite ubiquitous cell phones, tablets, e‐mail, and the whole social media universe, that good, clear communication ‐ so vital to effective management and leadership ‐ is often lacking. A third consideration is how the receiver “decodes” the message and whether he or she understands the intent or has a different takeaway from what was intended.
