The North American water industry has been experiencing a frenzy of external investment, mergers, consolidation, and acquisition activity for almost two decades now. Continuous ownership changes and nonstop wheeling and dealing seem to be the norm in this industry, and sometimes it's downright hard to remember who owns whom. People in the industry have gotten used to having a new owner or a new boss every other year. Everybody wants to get into the water industry.
