This paper makes a description of the two main representations of teachers present at free language courses, i.e. college graduate English teachers and non-college graduate ones. From these dichotomic relations, it is intended to promote a reflection upon how important role plays a college graduate teacher within the teaching learning process of foreign language and the relevance of the academic and ongoing formation to the teaching work of a language teacher.
