This study aims to investigate and analyse the relation between the theory about the cognitive development and the fulfilled practice in the discipline of Portuguese; technical and business composition, in the post-high school class of the Secretariado curse of a Cruz Alta public school, with base in the reading and composition of textual genres recurrent in business environment, in this specific case, cover letter produced for person that applies for an employment post.
