Desde 2005, o patrimônio imaterial vem ganhando grande destaque mundial, inclusive na América Latina. No que tange às festas populares, constata-se insuficiente sistematização de experiências e de políticas públicas culturais plenamente definidas. O objetivo deste trabalho é compreender o estado da arte em que o tema se encontra nos países integrantes do Centro Regional para la Salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de América Latina – CRESPIAL (Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Chile, Colômbia, Equador e Peru), considerando-se as principais festas populares, as leis, projetos e ações que vêm sendo implementadas em âmbito federal e estadual, em diálogo com as convenções internacionais que legislam sobre o assunto. Since 2005, the intangible heritage has earned great prominence worldwide, including in Latin America. Regarding the popular parties, cosnidered intangible heritage, it is evident an insufficient systematization of experiences and cultural public policies fully defined. The objective of this study is to understand the state of the art in which the subject is in the countries members of the Centro Regional para la Salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural Immaterial de América Latina (Reginal Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Latin America) - CRESPIAL (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru), considering laws, projects and action being implemented ar the federal and state government, in dialogue with the international conventions that legislate on the subject
