O presente artigo faz uma breve reconstituição histórica de como o patrimônio geológico e temas correlatos tem sido incorporado em ações e pesquisas na região do Quadrilátero Ferrífero, com seus objetivos e resultados. Mostra como essas temáticas ganham a arena regional e influenciam no desenvolvimento e crescimento de dissertações e teses. Discute aspectos importantes para a continuidade da promoção da conservação do patrimônio geológico no contexto de uma das mais importantes províncias minerais do mundo.Palavras–Chave: Geopatrimônio, Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Produção CientíficaAbstract This article makes a brief historical reconstitution of how geological heritage and related themes have been incorporated into actions and research in the Quadrilatero Ferrifero region, with its objectives and results. It shows how these themes gain the regional arena and influence the development and growth of dissertations and thesis. It discusses important aspects for the continuity of the promotion of conservation of the geological heritage in the context of one of the most important mineral provinces of the world.Keywords: Geoheritage, Quadrilatero Ferrifero, scientific production
