This paper discusses some aspects related to the dynamics of physical agent friction in orthodontic appliancesclassified as self-ligating. For this, it presents information on clinical follow-up performed on a patientsubmitted toorthodontic treatment during a specialization course in orthodontics, held in a higher education institution located in the northwest of Paraná state. Such patients mostly had deep bite, mild midline shift and anterior crossbite side and central incisors, in which we used a self-ligating device, which has among other features, a considerable reduction in friction during movement, dispensing bandages with a consequent reduction in treatment time. After the analysis, we found that the self-ligating system have lower friction, can provide benefits to patients such as no need for extraction and reducing the treatment time
