CIRCUNSTÂNCIA ATUAL DO MUNICIPIO DE PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE FRENTE À ADOÇÃO DA AGENDA 2030 E OS 17 OBJETIVOS DO DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL

Thiswork aims is to present brief explanations about the adoption of the 2030 Agenda and its respective Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. A brief study of the specific municipal legislation of São Paulo was adopted as a basis for comparison, which outlines guidelines and initiatives for the implementation, planning and actions of public policies in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The indexes and parameters provided by the National Confederation of Municipalities (NCM) by the Mandala SGD platform, and the general evaluation of “Município Verde Azul” Program were used. These instruments present relevant factors for sustainable development, transforming the 2030 Agenda into a reflection and planning tool for municipal managers. It wasfound that over years, although there are still considerable negative variations, several rules have been instituted to regulate relevant issues concerning the environment and local sustainability. However, until now the specific regulation related to Agenda 2030 has not been applied in Presidente Prudente city, which can be considered as an important gap in the search for advances in the quality of public environmental management. To conclude, although there is an important record of progress in general environmental management at the local level, a better coordination between the public authorities and all the agencies involved is necessary. In order to implement a specific guidelines and legal initiatives for the promotion, planning and actions of publicpolicies to implement the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, which will certainly ensure the exercise of local environmental citizenship
