With the daily use of thousands of tires in the automotive industry to transport both cargo and people, Brazil disposed of around 90 million tires in 2019, of which only 4 million are disposed of properly (SEST SENAT, 2019). The country was at a critical level on the issue of discard them, in accordance with CONAMA Resolution n°.416/2002.In civil engineering, the used tire is reused as a material for the construction of ground type tire retaining walls. The following work consists in comparing the gabion-type retaining wall with that of soil and tire, through literature review and sizing of a gabion-type retaining wall where there is already a gabion type, aiming for adequate resistance. According to the results obtained, the ground tire wall meets the needto contain the landfill as the overall checks are satisfactory. However, it is advantageous to use the retaining wall tire as it represents significant economy and sustainable characteristics.
