The Schiff base ligand type Bis-Salophen N,N’,N’’,N’’’-\udtetrasalicydene-1,2,4,5-tetraaminobene (TSAB) and their mono and\udbicoordinated complexes with Cu(II) were synthesized and\udcharacterized by UV-Vis and Luminescence spectroscopy to investigate\udthe optical behavior and possible application as chemosensor. The\udabsorbance and emission spectra showed characteristic bands of the\udSchiff base and one band assigned to the metal-ligand charge transfer\ud(MLCT). Also, the emission spectra showed differences of relative\udluminescence intensity between the TSAB ligand and its\udmonocoordinated complex.\ud\u
