The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of tannery’s sludge associated with the substrate on the production of lettuce’s seedlings. The experiment was conducted at a greenhouse in the period from July to August 2010. The following treatments were conducted: Treatment Witness (TW) = 0% of sludge; Treatment 2 (T2) = 2% of sludge; Treatment 4 (T4) = 4% of sludge; Treatment 6 (T6) = 6% of sludge, Treatment 8 (T8) = 8% of sludge; Treatment 10 (T10) = 10% of sludge, mixed to commercial substrate. The experiment was conducted in trays for 30 days, where were done the evaluations of emergency and growth of the seedlings. The tannery’s sludge in dosages employed provided a raise in the growth of the lettuce’s seedlings
