
AVALIAÇÃO DO EFEITO DO ESTRESSE SALINO SOBRE O DESENVOLVIMENTO INICIAL DA RÚCULA

The study of environmental conditions favorable to the early development of plants is the key\udpoint for obtaining high yields and satisfactory vegetable development. In view of this statement\udthe present study aimed to evaluate the initial development of Arugula (Eruca sativa CV.\udCultivated) subjected to different conditions of saline stress. Germitest sheets of paper were\udemerged in solutions of distilled water and sodium chloride with the following water conditions: 0;\ud-0.2; -0.4; -0.6; -0.8; -1.0 MPa. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Plant Pathology\udof the Federal University Acre (FUA), Campus Forest. Arugula seeds were held for eight days in\udgermitest paper soaked in different salt stress conditions in laboratory. The experimental design\udadopted was completely randomized with four repetitions and six treatments. The parameters\udmeasured in the experiment were: germination percentage, germination speed index, average\udtime of germination, germination speed coefficient and vegetative development of seedlings. In\udthis study, it was noted that the development of the hipocotile and radicle decreases linearly with\udincreasing salt concentration. Germination of Arugula resists to saline conditions until -0.4 MPa,\udand from this concentration there is significant reduction in seed germination
