s about clinical, educational, administrative and research topics/projects in the field of oncology nursing are invited to be considered for presentation in one of the following formats: oral, poster, workshop or symposia (a group of presentations on a similar theme). Future announcements will include more detail regarding presentation formats available. We encourage presentations targeting oncology nurses from novice to expert. NOTe: Presenting authors whose papers have been accepted and who attend the meeting are required to pay regular registration fees. By submitting your abstract, you are granting CANO/ACIO permission to list your name and abstract in our program materials. CANO/ACIO members, in good standing for the last two years, may be eligible for the following awards (i.e. members who have joined prior to March 5, 2008); please note that CANO/ACIO’s conflict of interest policy will be referenced in the selection process. leCTureShIP aWardS CANO/ACIO/Schering Plough Clinical Lectureship: The CANO/ACIO/Schering Plough Clinical Lectureship 1. was established to recognize excellence in clinical practice. In awarding this lectureship, particular emphasis will be given to abstracts that present innovative nursing interventions. Hélène Hudson Memorial Lectureship: CANO/ACIO and AMGEN have established a memorial lectureship 2. in honour of Hélène Hudson, an oncology nursing leader who died suddenly in 1993. This inspirational lectureship acknowledges the best abstract centered on the spirit and vision of oncology nursing. The speakers for these lectureships are chosen from among those individuals whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation. The successful candidates will be requested to submit a detailed curriculum vitae and invited to present their papers in a 50-minute presentation at a plenary session. The papers will be published in the Canadian Oncology Nursing Journal (CONJ) and/or on the CANO/ACIO website and the abstract summary will be circulated in the e-newsletter.
