In 1994 the Royal Flying Doctor Service ofAustralia celebrates its 66th year of service to rural Australians. From an experiment in Cloncurry, Queensland, in 1928, the organisation has grown to become a national aerial health service operating 37 aircraft over approximately 80 per cent of the Australian continent. The development of the RFDS and its current work is woven into thefabric ofpast and contemporary life in outback Australia.
