In June 1989 Stephen Davis and Peter Honey left Australia to accept Fellowships In the United States, taking their families with them. Linda and Stephen Davis and their two children, Estheraged four years and Henry aged one, went to Los Angeles where Stephen was to study magnetic resonance imaging at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Sandra and Peter Honey and their children, Peter aged two‐and‐a‐half years and Susannah aged nine months, went to Tampa, Florida, where Peter took a microsurgery Fellowship at the University of South Florida. Here Linda and Sandra give their advice on how to make the best of a Fellowship year In the United States.
