A case of severe eye irritation caused by the larvae of Oestrus ovis (the sheep nasal botfly) is reported. As this fly is widely distributed in Australia, it is possible that many cases of ocular infestation by O. ovts larvae remain undetected and the eye irritation is ascribed to other causes.
