Preliminary results of this small pilot study did not substantiate the claim that oestriol has no effect on endometrial tissue. Low doses of oestriol were insufficient to control the symptoms of hot flushes and dry vagina in most subjects. The increased dosages induced proliferative changes in endometrium.
