The degree of use made of artificial legs by a sample of primary amputees is investigated by means of a questionnaire survey. Only four respondents indicated non‐usage, but, of the remainder, about half indicated that they had problems which prevented them from using their prostheses “fully”; the vast majority of these, however, stood and/or walked on their prostheses every day.
