Results of the Use of Unprocessed Bran in Colonic and Rectal Disorders

Unprocessed bran was introduced into the diet of 118 patients with a variety of colonic and anorectal disorders. There was a significant relief of symptoms in 85% of these patients. Specifically, surgery was avoided in 18 patients for whom it would have been otherwise necessary.
