The case is reported of a middle‐aged woman with a non‐parasitic liver cyst. The patient's left lobe of the liver was excised on her first admission to hospital; a second admission to hospital was caused by an acute small bowel obstruction. An operation was necessary and the patient has had an uneventful recovery.
